Free glTF to PLY Converter for Surface Processing

The glTF to PLY Converter lets you move polygon data out of a glTF scene and into a binary PLY mesh. Use the result for surface inspection and processing without carrying the scene hierarchy or animation.

  • Unlimited
  • Safety

Unlimited conversions, one file at a time. Up to 50 MB and 1 million imported triangles per file. Your model stays on your device and is processed locally.

glTF to PLY Converter: Reference Models for Shape and Surface Detail

Use these GLB samples to think through shape and detail before converting your scene. They are reference assets rather than results from your own file.

glTF to PLY Converter: Mesh Faces and Vertex Attributes

The glTF model is exported as a binary PLY mesh. Supported vertex data can travel with the surface for inspection and processing in compatible tools.

Use an embedded glTF file

Choose a .gltf with embedded mesh buffers and images. A file that points to a separate BIN file or texture folder must be repackaged first.

Export a binary PLY mesh

Save mesh faces and supported vertex attributes, including existing vertex colors. Texture images, animation and scene hierarchy are not exported.

Carry existing vertex colors

Colors already stored per vertex can transfer into PLY. The converter does not sample image textures to generate new color values on the mesh.

A separate .ply download

Save the PLY result from your browser and keep the .gltf source for further work. Conversion does not overwrite the original file.

glTF to PLY Converter Benefits: Surfaces for Mesh Processing

Separate surface processing from scene assembly by giving your next tool a PLY mesh to work with.

No account or credits needed

Choose your glTF file and save the PLY result without signing in or using generation credits. Conversion and download are both included.

Your model stays on your device

Your .gltf is processed on your device. Creating the .ply download does not send model data to a conversion server.

Work beyond scene-oriented applications

Export PLY when the next tool needs mesh faces and vertex attributes rather than a complete scene document with materials and animation.

Use a surface-focused handoff

Give a collaborator the PLY when their tool needs geometry from glTF. Keep the source file for any workflow that depends on its original representation.

glTF to PLY Converter for static surface analysis and mesh-processing pipelines

Use the converted file in your own mesh-processing workflow. Inspect the exported surface and its available attributes before editing or passing it to another tool.

Focus on a scene model’s surface data

Export embedded glTF geometry as a binary PLY mesh for polygon-based processing. Work with supported vertex attributes independently of the original scene hierarchy.

Analyze surfaces independently of nodes

Inspect the static PLY mesh when your task concerns geometry rather than the organization of the glTF scene.

Prepare a mesh-processing input

Feed the binary PLY into a compatible cleanup tool, then check the revised surface before creating another scene asset.

Inspect vertex attributes outside the scene

Use a PLY-aware mesh tool to review available attributes without navigating the original scene hierarchy.

How to use the glTF to PLY Converter on see3d.art

Add a supported .gltf file and let the converter recognize its format. Choose PLY as the output, run the conversion and save the download.

  • Add your .gltf file

  • Choose PLY as the output

  • Convert and download the .ply
