Free PLY to VOX Converter for Scan-Inspired Voxel Art

The PLY to VOX Converter lets you use a PLY surface mesh as the outline for new voxel artwork. The single-color VOX fits a 64 × 64 × 64 grid, ready for manual block refinement and painting in a voxel editor.

PLY to VOX Converter: Scan Surfaces on a Voxel Grid

The PLY surface is fitted to a fixed voxel grid. This creates a block-based interpretation of the mesh rather than preserving its original scale and fine detail.

Read a PLY surface mesh

Use a binary or ASCII PLY with indexed triangle or quad faces. Point-only scans and meshes with per-face UVs or colors are not supported by this converter; re-export with vertex attributes first.

Build a 64 × 64 × 64 voxel surface

Fit the mesh surfaces to a 64 × 64 × 64 grid and export a single-color VOX file. Fine detail and original dimensions change during voxelization.

Use geometry as the artwork’s starting point

The scan’s surface becomes a voxel outline in one color. Original vertex colors are not transferred, leaving palette design to the voxel-editing stage.

A separate .vox download

Save the VOX result from your browser and keep the .ply source for further work. Conversion does not overwrite the original file.

PLY to VOX Converter Benefits: Captured Shapes for Voxel Art

Use the outline of a captured object to begin a voxel design, then reinterpret its finer features and palette by hand.

No account or credits needed

Choose your PLY file and save the VOX result without signing in or using generation credits. Conversion and download are both included.

Your model stays on your device

Your .ply is processed on your device. Creating the .vox download does not send model data to a conversion server.

Develop artwork from a real-world outline

Start with the shape captured in a PLY mesh, then redesign small features and colors for the voxel grid rather than recreating the object block by block.

Keep the original for detailed work

The VOX is a rescaled interpretation of the PLY surface. Keep the source when you need fine geometry or original dimensions for another project.

PLY to VOX Converter for scan-based voxel props and silhouette redesigns

Use the converted file in your own voxel-editing workflow. Develop the downloaded surface through block changes, color choices and silhouette refinement.

Create a voxel interpretation of a scan

Convert a PLY surface mesh into a single-color VOX model on a 64 × 64 × 64 grid. Use the scan’s overall shape as a starting point for a new voxel artwork.

Make a voxel prop from a scanned object

Use the scan’s overall outline as a base for a block-shaped prop and redesign details that do not read clearly on the grid.

Repaint the scan in a new style

Create a fresh palette on the single-color VOX surface; the source PLY’s vertex colors are not carried into this export.

Explore a simplified object family

Convert individual PLY meshes and edit their VOX results in a consistent palette and block style for a set of related props.

How to use the PLY to VOX Converter on see3d.art

Add a supported .ply file and let the converter recognize its format. Choose VOX as the output, run the conversion and save the download.

  • Add your .ply file

  • Choose VOX as the output

  • Convert and download the .vox
